Socialists in the Democratic Party

Just days ago I posted a blog on the dangers of an Obama Presidency, citing the Socialization of the United States, especially when it comes to energy.

Here is the proof: Democrats answer to the oil crisis is to nationalize the refineries so the government can control the flow of oil.

This is the FUNDAMENTAL CONTRAST between Republicans and Democrats in 2008. The Republican party still has ties to the far right, but very faint. The GOP has become a Political Party that would even be too liberal for the likes of John F Kennedy, should he be running for president today. However, the GOP maintains that Personal Property Rights are the fundamental basis of which rule of law and liberty are founded. The Democratic Party is hardly representative of it's name. They are Socialists, fundamentally. The very ideals that we fought through the Cold War have now come home to roost. The answer to every issue on the table is governmental control, or nationalization, of the land, industry, etc. Their belief is that the individual, or collective of individual private owners does not have the capacity to function in a way that meets societies needs, so they opt for control of those goods and services from their own offices. This is an ELITIST IDEOLOGY, that "they know better than I". It is a cancer in a free society, on every level... and now they are really showing their true colors (i hate to say it, but I told you so!)

What we need in 2008 is a rebirth of McCarthy. Someone willing to provide a list of all the members of Congress and the Senate who are outright Socialists, and point out the destruction they seek on the free United States.

Our Society is going the way of Atlas Shrugged, in which the government made it impossible for an industry to succeed with archaic laws, and when the industry could not survive, they nationalized it. Systematically the country fell to the whims of those in power... and the United States became a Socialist Hell-hole. Of course in the book the leaders of industry refused to continue to produce, and in so doing, took their knowledge of HOW to produce out of the hands of the government, leaving nothing. (a great read)

But I digress...

Every citizen of the United States needs to be made aware of the dangers that lie ahead with a Democratic Majority. There is nothing Progressive about Socialism or Communism. Public ownership / Government ownership of industry, property, and production are Marxist ideals that do not coexist with freedom. Freedom can only be achieved through individual rights, rule of law, and protection by the government of those rights... any role above these by the government is one that limits freedom.

The Democrats love to target the "Rich"... They love to tell stories about how the rich have become wealthy off the backs of the people. They have created a class warfare of blame and resentment. They want you to want what others have, and be willing to take it, if not by force, by granting them the power to take it on your behalf... WHAT YOU DO NOT REALIZE is that once they seize the property of the affluent, what protection do we, the proletarian, have?

When times are hard in America, we pick ourselves up by the boot-straps and we work through it. In the case of energy, we adapt... we evolve... we support an auto industry in favor of changing their power source from petroleum to electricity or other alternates. We support the free thinking imagination of the inventors, and rally behind great new technologies.

What we do not do is turn over all facets of life to the government, thus giving up entirely, and asking them to sort it all out for us. We are Americans. We do NOT take a back seat to our own destiny!

Take an active role. Contact your Senator or Congressman. Call the White House and leave a message for the President: We do NOT support the Socialist take-over of our refineries. We do NOT support the socialist tendencies of the Democratic party in these United States. And we will NOT support Socialist Democrats in 2008!

  1. 1. Fox News = proof? That one made me laugh out loud.

    2. An stupid remark by one Democratic congressman does not define the policy agenda of the party. Want to know what the Democratic party's agenda is? Maybe look at the legislation they're actually passing: a bunch more kissing up to President Bush, right along with the Republicans. (the FISA "compromise")

    3. No, nationalization of industries is not on the left's agenda. Expanding Medicare to more of the population is as close as I've ever heard... and I read a lot of liberal material.

    4. If you want McCarthy to come back and level a bunch of baseless accusations and scaremongering to divide the American people even further, that is just plain disgusting.

    5. The threat to our nation right now is in the curtailing of liberties and privacy. warrantless spying, unchallengeable detentions -- now these our threats to the freedom that is at the heart of our Constitution.

    6. Yeah, let's all call the White House, since they're clearly in charge of the country. Why, they can even ask you to break the law and provide immunity as long as you do what they want.

If you really believe McCarthyism is good for the country, then, seriously, I'm disgusted.

  2. Jessi - McCarthyism is not ideal... but what is ideal is the ability to call a spade a spade... Our Senators these days lack the brass tax that McCarthy had, right or wrong, in doing what is right for the US (in his case, protecting the US against Communism - though he may have been paranoid a bit)

The idea that Liberty can be achieved in conjunction with ANY socialist ideals is absoultely wrong. The very existence of taxes is the forceful taking of one's property (money) for the existence of government... now taxes have expanded to include that which is above the basic elements of government... and being expanded to the welfare of everyone. That is cause for alarm!

The government acting as a business entity is a monopoly. They cannot be questionsed or challenged, so that makes them a Tyrannical Monopoly... the likes of which only a revolution can fix.

The fundamental question - Do you believe that it is right to initiate force to gain control of another's property for the sake of a third party?

  3. In some cases, definitely yes.

Monopolies are an obvious one. The utility company owns the lines, but the government forces them to charge only so much for their use.

There are many, many industries, possible even most industries, where market failures mean regulation and tax incentives are necessary for proper functioning.

Then there's the problem of wealth -> power -> wealth -> more power. Sometimes it takes government sticking up for the little guy. Unfortunately a lot of our too-big government is sticking up for the big guy (oil companies, telecoms, campaign donors). It takes more than a vote to have your voice heard.

Is socialism evil? Are all those miserable people in Sweden moaning and groaning over their lack of freedom? I hear they're pretty happy and it's a great place to live.

It's a big spectrum, of how much wealth redistribution government does. Communism is one extreme, and clearly one that doesn't work. Raw capitalism is terrible too, as seen in 19th-century America with exploitative labor practices. Socialism does work, as seen in much of Europe. The system we have now works too.

The government should be questioned or challenged constantly. That's checks and balances, right? The branches challenge each other, and the voters question them all and hold them accountable at election time, if all is working well.

Liberty is not about "freedom from someone taking my money." Liberty is about saying whatever I want, living where and how I choose, as long as it doesn't harm anyone else. Taxes aren't taking that from me. Restricting my freedom of movement or threatening my privacy and thereby impeding free speech, now that's taking away Liberty.

  4. I dont want socialism/communisim.....they have no right to change anything without a vote of the people..No one gave the Dems a mandate to do this to us...They were sneaky and dishonest....

Sweden isnt as happy as you say....neither is Holland..I know people from both places...the less productive are..but not people like the middleclass Americans who like to acheive good things for their lives...

As with alot of other legislation..the Democrats cant get anything passed through a vote..so they cheat....using the judges...or lying in a campaign all the while Acorn is cheating for them at the polls...

Why would anyone want corrupt people like these running anything...

  5. Constant vigilance as Thomas Jefferson said. That is what we must have for freedom to survive. Public education has been devoted to socialism for decades in America. Very dangerous.

  6. JessiTRON said, "No, nationalization of industries is not on the left's agenda." But he couldn't be more incorrect. Obama is actually a Marxist through-and-through - and his ideology certainly includes nationalization of business. I wonder if JessiTRON missed the nationalization (bailout) of banks and the nationalization of GM and Chrysler. The Fed is a nationalization of the banking system in total. There have been many other left driven nationalizations of industry (including almost all mineral explotation) over the years too. The nervana of the left (Democrats) is absolute Marxism.

  7. You americans have a very insular mentality ,first you dont no what socialism is ,barack obama is a liberal democrat in british terms ,your politics are so right wing that you have a very im alright jack mentality ,if the usa was so great why does it have so much grinding poverty? The american people are the most uneducated voter in the western world ,the use is the only western country without universal health care ,what a disgrace yet you want to tell every other country how to run its business, american capatalism has failed just like soviet communism did also ,the only way the usa can become a great power again is by becoming a more progressive liberal conutry and that means having a social system that benifits all ,and the end to teh im alright jack mentality, and obama is no socialist i can tell you,gw bush was a fascist by british terms.

  8. The republican party
    =neo con/fascist by european terms
    The democratic party
    =Social/liberal democratic by european terms

Which way does america want to go ??you have decided
Another thing the money spent on both parties election could have been used to fund a health service in america,
The american people should get out of the usa more to be educated on how the other half live ,sadly i do not think so ,I am glad obama got a second term as america could not have endoured a rightwing republican in term for another 4 years , PS CAN YOU EXPLAIN TO THE OTHER HALF WHAT HAS A REPUBLICAN PRESIDENT EVER ACTUALLY DONE FOR THE USA ?

  9. As some one from scotland ,I am amased that the 10 most poorest states in the usa voted republican which goes against there interests as the republicans are a conservative rightwing party, these states are all in the deep south and must have poor education systems as by the republicans deregulating industry and driving down conditions it has done nothing to improve the lives of people from the deep south in creating jobs ,so buy voting republican in the deep south they have in effect made there conditions worse ,as obviously the republicans cannot improve peoples conditions by creating wealth ,all they have done is create poverty ,the facts do not lie,In scotland no working class people vote for conservative parties as it against our interests and will vote for the scottish equivalent of the democrats i,e the labour party or scottish nationalists or scottish socialist party or liberal democrats which are all left of centre parties ,so this comes to the conclusion that the republicans play on the under educated people of the deep south who are very desperate ,and beleive all there lies as the ten most richest states are democratic so that proves that the democrats can create wealth and lift people out of poverty simples .
