The Most Beautiful Act of Compassion

What began as a chaotic day, preceded by a chaotic weekend, preceded by a continuum of high stress chaotic days, ended with a prayer for clarity and peace in my mind and a prayer answered.  Before I detail the precise nature of the prayer or the moment of clarity, I have to marvel at the wonder that is the unexpected...

My prayer was simple, “please give me clarity so that I may see both the answer and the question.”

What followed was an intense hot flash of white light which woke me and a night of endless thought processes solving the most impossible questions, and finally a soft voice that quieted all of my thoughts; a moment of clarity.

The most beautiful act of compassion is to not restrict self-determination.”

My prayer answered in the simplest of terms wherein the answer and the question co-exist in a unified thought.  It is the answer that begs any question, and any question can be thusly answered.

I then began to meditate on this statement in hopes to fully understand its intended purpose in my mind, and I was gently reminded of the natural blessing of free-will and how the understanding of the Biblical teachings and my search for Universal Truth have brought me round again and again to the above concept.  It has shaped my life, my political will, and my connection to the universe.  I find that when I resist the pure intent of this Truth is when I find myself most at odds with the universe around me.

I spoke this truth after a moment of clarity following my best friend’s death, simply as the word “Timshel”.

Biblically, God breathed more than life into man.  Into man was also breathed the spirit of Free Will.  Thou mayest.  Throughout the Holy Scriptures there is seen time and again the option, the choice, to do what is good or not.  The testament to Truth is the ability to come to it freely, and to allow others to do the same.  In all scriptures of Truth across all time across all religions there is this recurring Truth, the source of True Universal Love.

My life is simplified today by the knowledge that turmoil, grief, and chaos are born of resistance of what is, dwelling on what was, and fearing what is to come.  I will continue to preach this truth, that interference in another’s right to self-determination is the source of evil in our lives.  From whatever soapbox I am afforded, and whatever personal struggle I am facing, I will remind myself and others that the most beautiful act of compassion is non-interference in their self-determination, and that peace will be realized in our lifetime only when humanity learns this most valuable lesson of Love.

Who is to Blame for the MD Ghetto?

Take a look at the "Two Maps" scenario in the Washington Post
http://www.washingtonpost.com/blogs/wonkblog/wp/2015/04/28/these-two-maps-show-the-shocking-inequality-in-baltimore/

In this article you will see maps comparing racial divides, racial inequalities, and the attempt to identify race as the culprit to the outrage in Maryland.

So one begs the question of root cause.  Why is there a 30% vacancy rate in the Black neighborhoods?  What has drawn such disparity in the Old East?

I blame banks and their mortgage practices.  Banking practices and property mortgage law pays no mind to the quality of our lands, only the bottom line.  There is no humanity in property lending or in foreclosures.  The human element has been removed from civilization, and as such crime and opportunity for crime increases.

I blame business tax practices and red tape.  Business start-up should be the easiest task for a determined mind.  However, there is often an insurmountable beaurocratic step required to begin the pursuit of happiness that most fail to effectively launch and sustain.

I blame government social safety nets.  There is a permanent "handout class" in American society these days.  Men do not "go hungry" anymore.  In fact, many families thrive on government handouts.  As such there is never a need to migrate when jobs go away.  Instead of "voting with our feet" it is easier to stay and live off of the handouts.  Unemployment skyrockets, crime skyrockets, and there is no incentive for new business to take root as the neighborhoods are do not lend themselves to prosperity or security.

I wouldn't be me if I did not also blame the individual.  What mettle have you as a man who is dispositioned to take and not give, to demand and not provide, to consume and not create? What purpose do you serve in humanity?  What life are you living?  What legacy are you leaving?  How will history judge you?

The world is burning, and there are so many to blame... no one is guiltless, as even the apathetic voters (and non-voters) are to blame for allowing corruption and falacy to lead this nation into the desert.

There is No Greater Path to Peace...

There is no greater path to peace than the immediate call for full and intended colonization of space and the planets of our Star System.

We have been witness to 15 years of a "War on Terror", a war which is perpetuating fear, authoritarian destruction of personal freedoms, and draining the collective resources and goodwill of the inhabitants of this planet.  We have become burdened by increased spying, mistrust, and collective failure of the social system of government.  We have stalled as a people, uninspired but by bread and circus.  World markets and currency are failing.  World governments are on the brink of collapse.  This is a worst case scenario playing out in our time.

But there is a currency that will not fail - the currency of innovation and determination.  Even where the masses are subjecting themselves to destruction, there are those who seek to expand the purpose of humanity.  It has been this way in all eras, and this era of destruction is no different.

With the successful venture beyond the limits and bounds of this world, the collective understanding of our finite planet are sure to follow.  Become a space faring civilization is the only sure method to see beyond the billowing smoke rising from the oilfields and recognize that our purpose is greater than what we are now realizing.  Since the dawn of time there has been a natural call to the stars, in poetry, in song, in story.  It is this natural instinct, like the spawning salmon, that is the indicator... peace lies in the heavens.

There is no greater path to peace than to resolve to cease acting as agents of war and collectively become a society of explorers.  Immediate cessation of all war spending, of all destruction, and of all government authoritarianism, replaced with a cause, a purpose of building a pillar to space.  Pour the resources 100 fold into space.  Build the ships and rockets and other things necessary to realize a permanent presence beyond this earth.  Now is the time to define humanity.  Are we a species bent on seeking destruction of ourselves and our planet?  Or are we a species destined to evolve our society into the stars?

There is no greater path to peace than a peaceful purpose realized with all your heart.

Considering Bloggosphere Re-entry

Three years is a significant amount of time to remain silent from what was once the centerpiece of my political activity.  In these three years I have officially split with the Republican Party, become the Secretary of a statewide Libertarian party, run a campaign for State Representative as a Libertarian, organized grassroots activities and become the chairman of local commissions and boards.  I have begun writing statewide initiatives and trying to best use my political mind to lead and motivate.  I left the blogging world for reality and have been extremely busy.

What I have found lacking is a constant and able platform from which I can collect and gather thoughts and put them out for the world to scrutinize.  I return time and again to my blog (which I aptly renamed this morning from the Liberty Republican to the Liberty Sentinel) and feel a certain nostalgia for the maturing of my political philosophy in this public forum.

I will not edit any of my previous posts, nor remove or delete them.  My new readership may read my past thoughts and opinions and learn how the political mind must be able to evolve to adapt to current threats to liberty, and hopefully learn from my example that personal growth and knowledge is the only fuel of freedom.

Do I re-enter the bloggosphere?  Is this my sounding board...
