On a side note, the EU is attempting to declare that 'vacation' is a human right, and one that should be subsidized by the government of the EU. Before I delve into the insanity at work here, I HAVE to hope that the Federal Government doesn't catch wind of this... might give them ideas!
Human rights are those things without which we are unable to realize our fullest potential. The right to life, being the most basic - without which we would cease to simply be. The right to freedom from oppression - without which we could not freely pursue success. The right, of course, to freely pursue success however you so choose to define it. There are many rights that have been bestowed upon us, all supporting a common theme: Equal Opportunity. A just and civil society must allow equal opportunity to all members, an equal opportunity at life, to achieve, to attempt... this, however, should not be confused with equal outcome.
The concept of equal outcome is the antithesis of liberty, the destabilization of a free and just society, the advocacy for increased control of the individual. From taxing success for wealth redistribution to dictating health and education of the poor, the ever expanding government strives for equal outcome under the assumption that the people simply cannot survive without their intervention.
What is happening in Europe is not a comedy, rather a tragedy. The unification of Europe under an increasingly socialistist wealth redistribution mindset is the great end to independent European societies, but also the single largest driver for future wars in Europe. Regional battles for Independence from tyranny historically follow the conquest of lands at some point down the road. Europe beat back the offenses of nationalistic socialism, but has succumbed to globalistic socialism, the second hand of the same beast. They are an indicator for what is to come in America, especially when our unrepresentative leaders strive in every avenue to emulate Europe.
There can be peace on this world outside of absolute government control. Pax Romana is no longer necessary. Common objectives can be sought that unite the peoples of many lands. The move toward global socialistic conquest has been attempted before, and each time war has been the outcome. Peace under threat of force is no peace... Liberty under the watchful eye of the government is not liberty, and government funded personal benefits are no human right!

The Truth of Islamification - Fitna, the Movie - by Geert Wilders
The Netherlands is under siege, as is all of Europe. Over the course of the last 1200 years, Islam has made several attempts to convert Europe by the sword - this time they are conducting a campaign of immigration and domination... it is devastating European culture, and threatening any potential for world peace.
The following video is called FITNA - a production by a Dutch MP, Geert Wilders, in which he openly criticises the Islamification of his homeland, the Netherlands.
WARNING: The video contains extremely graphic content, not suitable for all eyes. It includes mutilated corpses, the act of mutilating corpses, murder, suicide, etc - very graphic.
In the Netherlands, gone are the days of "I don't defend what you have to say, but I defend your right to say it"... and it has been replaced with the battle cry of Islam - "Behead those who Insult Islam".
Wilders (pronounced Vilders) was to travel to England over the weekend to address parliament discussing the issue of Islamification of Europe - unfortunately the British Government had him removed from the country after threats from a British Muslim cleric to draw tens of thousands of muslim protesters became too much for the Brits to manage... The fear of protest caused the leader of another state to be turned away.
The outcry from muslims is that the movie falsely equates Islam with violence... in the words of Pat Condell, "that is like falsely equating Disney with Mickey Mouse. Islam without violence is like an egg less omelet". Dare we say anything negative about The Religion of Peace, lest we find ourselves also threatened with Violence... go figure.
I have written a number of posts against Islam - not as a religious practice or attack on a religion, but rather a culture of fear and outdated dogma aimed at dragging our civilization back a thousand years. I recommend you browse some of my previous posts, mostly titled "Cry havoc, and let slip the dogs of war" or some variation...
What is happening in Europe is part of the plan of Islamification - driving fear into the hearts of all, aimed at destruction of civilization for the purpose of obedience to the "religion"...

Eurofication of the American Left
The left is afraid to let the United States fight the war that needs to be fought. I have written about my frustration in this war against Islamic Totalitarianism, in that our goal is to make everyone love us instead of doing what is right.
I blame the left. I blame the weak politicians on the right for giving in to the left.
I was at my graduation ceremony last night for the LPR (Leadership Program of the Rockies), and our keynote speaker was Dennis Prager. Mr. Prager said something that inspired my column today: "Instead of learning from the Great Wars that it is our job to Fight Evil, Europeans learned that it is Evil to Fight." (this in response to a report that German soldiers are ordered not to fire on Taliban troops, despite their actions, unless fired upon first)
The Europeans became pacifists in world and internal affairs, in hopes of a unification of Europe. They have their unification, but at the cost of the downfall of all that is and ever was Europe. There is no spine in Europe, no one to stand up for values that have shaped Europe over the last 2000 years... and no desire to act as the same atrocities that occurred in Germany and Poland in the second World War are taking place throughout Africa, Pacific Island Nations, and throughout the Middle East... as such, America is left to do what is right... and be the police to the world.
Prager also said that it is better to do what is right and be hated for it, than to do what is wrong and be loved. If you are loved by all, then you have done something wrong... you have sacrificed your principles... This is true for the military intervention in the case of genocide... Rwanda, Congo, and other African Countries have seen more sheer numbers of dead due to Genocide than all military and civilian deaths in World War Two worldwide... yet the world, and namely Europe, does nothing.
They do nothing because they refuse to be hated as the United States has been seen as being hated around the world... and in their silence, they sin. Their very inaction is a crime against Humanity.
And the American left is under the same spell... it is more important to them to be loved around the world than to stand up and do what is right. Send aid to Darfur, but not the military necessary to stop the Genocide. What good is aid when you are murdered by a machete, raped, and burned in your home with your entire family?
No... the left is more interested in appearing to be doing the right thing... but no action is taken for fear of being hated... because they, much like the European Pacifists, have learned that to Fight is Evil.
Deep in the gut of every man, woman, and child around the world is a feeling... a pinch... you know the difference between right and wrong.
If you see someone committing a crime against humanity, you know it is wrong. And if you get that pinch, but do nothing, you too have committed a crime. You are at fault for not doing all you could to help... to stop the rape, to stop the killing, to stop the violence... even if it means giving your life to save another. That is the American Way... not Pacifism... not sitting by and watching as the world burns around us.
I don't care how the conflicts started... All I care about is how they are ended.
If you went in to a doctor to cure your lung cancer, and instead of curing you he continually blamed you for smoking... you should find another doctor!
So if it is our job to stop genocide in Africa, and prevent it in Iraq by up and leaving, we should do the job, not obsess on how we got there in the first place.
How do we save as many lives as possible?
By doing what is right.
The left, somewhere along the way, have learned that it is evil to fight.
The truth is that it is our duty, our moral authority, to stop killing, raping, and inhumane acts around the world... all things that we can consider evil... it is our obligation as a free and enlightened society to fight evil. That is real change!

KIVA - Spreading Free Markets and Supporting Personal Responsiblity
The key behind truly upholding the ideals of Liberty and Freedom is the understanding that it is the self, not the government, that is best equipped to care for the individual.
There is a non-profit movement that I was introduced to some time ago, and which I am greatly supportive of, that serves to spread freedom and self reliance far more than any donation possibly can.
The organization is called KIVA.
KIVA's goal is to provide sources of finance where traditional US style loans are not available (in third world countries where governments are shaky at best, and there is no such thing as a stable economy). But these sources of income are not hand-outs... they are hand-ups.
KIVA is a micro-lending company, where you are allowed to invest in a third world entrepreneur $25 US dollars at a time. These are not donations, but loans that will be fully paid back to the lender over the agreed to contract time. The risk is low, but the benefits are enormous... especially for the individual obtaining the loan.

These loans represent a new head of cattle, new inventory in their store, expansion of a privately owned business, betterment of the lives of the lender and the improvement of the society around them.
There is a new front on the global war on poverty. It is the spread of life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness... the spread of freedom. Not by toppling governments, but by emboldening people to live better lives and provide a future for their families.
What better way to use $25 than to spread freedom and hope?
And remember... you'll get that $25 back... so reinvest!
I currently have three loans out that are being repaid: One to a cattle farmer in Tajikistan who wanted to buy new cattle in the winter, when prices were down; One to a woman in Lebanon who wanted to expand inventory in her western style clothing store; and One to a group of women in Uganda who wanted to expand their charcoal sales business.
I challenge my readers to provide one $25 loan, and leave a comment telling me what your investment went towards, and who it helped. I know I get about 30 unique visits a day... if 1/3 of my readers made one loan today, we could help change the lives of 10 folks directly and hundreds or thousands indirectly.
How will you help?
